Self-advocacy: when a person speaks up and talks about their thoughts and feelings, when they ask for what they want, when they make decisions which affect them, or when they try to change things when they think they are being treated unfairly.

Disability: any physical, sensory, or intellectual condition which reduces a person’s mobility or their ability to communicate, learn, or interact independently.

Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD): used to describe a person who was not born in Australia or a person whose first language is not English. It also describes the children of people who were not born in Australia or who do not speak English as their first language.
