that is important to you. Hopefully you were able to change things
for the better but if you haven’t, don’t give up. The
next time you speak-up for yourself it might be better!
Self-advocacy can change all areas of your life for the better:
it can give you the freedom and independence to make choices about
your life so you can live the way that best suits YOU. If there
is something that is making you upset or angry or something you
would like to change, don’t be afraid to speak-up and tell
someone how you are feeling. It is up to you to change the things
in your life that you are not happy with!
You can use the steps in this manual over and over again when you
use self-advocacy in all areas of your life. Go back and practice
the skills that you feel you need to improve as many times as you
like. Sometimes the self-advocacy process can be tough, but it is
worth all the hard effort you put in. Self-advocacy helps you to
create the life YOU want to live.
